Your Workspace URL & Switching Workspaces

Every Rentablez account lives at its own workspace — a self-contained space with its own assets, orders, customers, and settings. Your workspace has a unique web address (your Workspace URL), and if you belong to more than one, you can hop between them in a couple of clicks. This article explains where your Workspace URL comes from and the two ways to switch workspaces.

What Is a Workspace URL?

When you create your account, you choose a Workspace URL — a short, unique name that becomes the web address for your account:

yourname.rentablez.com

Think of it as your company’s front door into Rentablez. It identifies your workspace on our servers and keeps your data separate from every other company on the platform.

Where you set it: The Workspace URL is chosen on Step 1 (Workspace) of the sign-up wizard, alongside your Company Name. See Signing Up & Signing In for the full walkthrough.

How the Workspace URL Is Built

As you type your Company Name, Rentablez suggests a matching Workspace URL automatically. You can accept the suggestion or type your own. A few rules the sign-up form enforces:

RuleDetail
Allowed charactersLowercase letters and hyphens only — spaces and symbols are stripped as you type
LengthBetween 3 and 30 characters
SuffixAlways ends in .rentablez.com (shown next to the field)
Must be uniqueNo two workspaces can share the same URL

As soon as your entry is long enough, the form checks availability live and shows one of:

  • Available! — the name is free and you can continue.
  • Already taken — pick a different name.
  • Checking availability... — the check is still running.

You can only move past Step 1 once your Workspace URL shows as available.

Choose your Workspace URL thoughtfully — it becomes the permanent address staff use to reach your account. It is set during sign-up and is not something you edit from the everyday settings screens.

Belonging to More Than One Workspace

The same email address can be a member of several workspaces — for example, if you run more than one business, or a partner has invited you into their account. When that’s the case, Rentablez gives you two ways to move between them.

The workspace-switching tools below only appear if your email belongs to two or more active workspaces. If you have a single workspace, you’ll never see a picker or switcher — there’s nothing to switch to.

Choosing a Workspace at Login

If your email is tied to multiple workspaces, signing in adds one extra step. After you enter your email and password, Rentablez shows the Select Workspace screen instead of taking you straight to the dashboard.

Steps

  1. Enter your email and password on the login screen and continue.
  2. On Select Workspace, you’ll see a card for each workspace your email can access — each showing the company name and its yourname.rentablez.com address.
  3. Click the workspace you want to enter.
  4. Rentablez signs you into that workspace and lands you on its dashboard.

This screen is time-limited. For security, the workspace choice is protected by a short-lived session (about five minutes). If you leave the page open too long and then pick a workspace, you may see “Your session expired. Please log in again.” — just sign in again to get a fresh list.

Use Back to Login on this screen if you need to sign in with a different email.

Switching Workspaces While You’re Signed In

You don’t have to log out to move to another workspace. The workspace switcher sits in the top navigation bar and shows the name of the workspace you’re currently in.

Steps

  1. In the top bar, click the button showing your current workspace name (it has a small building icon and a downward chevron).
  2. The dropdown lists your Current Workspace at the top and a Switch To list of the others you can access — each with its company name and yourname.rentablez.com address.
  3. Click the workspace you want to move to.
  4. What happens next depends on whether that workspace needs a password (see below).

Once the switch completes, all pages — dashboard, orders, assets, reports — reload with the new workspace’s data. If you were on a detail page (for example, a specific order), Rentablez sends you to that workspace’s dashboard so you don’t land on a record that doesn’t exist there.

Seamless Switch vs. Password Prompt

Not every workspace switch asks for a password:

You’ll seeWhat happens
No lock iconA Switch Workspace? confirmation appears — click Switch to continue or Stay Here to cancel. No password needed.
A lock icon next to the workspaceAn inline Enter password to switch field appears — type that workspace’s password and click Switch Workspace.

Tip shown in the app: Use the same password across all your workspaces and future switches become instant — you won’t be asked for a password again in that session.

If a password is wrong, you’ll see “Incorrect password. Please try again.” If the account has been temporarily locked after repeated wrong attempts, wait a few minutes before trying again.
