Customizing Your Dashboard and Quick Actions

Your dashboard is the first screen you land on after signing in. Two parts of it are yours to shape: the time range that every metric is measured against, and the Quick Actions grid of shortcut cards in the top-right corner. Both settings are saved to your own account, so the dashboard looks the way you left it the next time you log in — and your changes don’t affect anyone else on your team.

Why Personalize the Dashboard?

  • See the period that matters to you. A branch manager watching this week’s returns and an owner reviewing the year’s revenue want different default views. Set it once.
  • One-click access to your daily jobs. Swap in the four actions you actually use — creating orders, logging maintenance, checking returns — instead of hunting through the menu.
  • It sticks. Your time range and your chosen shortcuts are remembered per user, across sessions and devices.

The dashboard and the wider Reports & Analytics area require the Reports & Analytics subscription module and the reports.read permission. If you can’t see the dashboard widgets, ask your administrator to confirm your plan and role.

Setting the Dashboard Time Range

The time-range selector sits near the top of the dashboard, next to your greeting. It is a global filter — whatever you choose here drives the KPI cards, the revenue chart, and the other time-based widgets all at once.

Choose a preset

  1. Click the date button (it shows your current range, for example Last 30 days).
  2. Pick an option from the list:
OptionWhat it covers
TodayThe current day
This weekThe current calendar week
Last 30 daysThe trailing 30 days
Last 3 monthsThe trailing 3 months
Last 6 monthsThe trailing 6 months
Year to dateJanuary 1 through today
Custom rangeTwo dates you pick yourself
  1. The widgets refresh immediately, and your choice is saved to your account.

Use a custom range

  1. Open the selector and choose Custom range.
  2. Pick a From date and a To date in the two date fields that appear.
  3. Click Apply. The Apply button stays disabled until both dates are set.

KPI cards compare the selected period against the previous period of the same length, showing an up or down trend pill. A shorter range gives you a tighter, more recent comparison; a longer range smooths out day-to-day swings.

Customizing Quick Actions

Quick Actions is the 2x2 grid of shortcut cards in the top-right of the dashboard. Each card jumps you straight into a common task. You choose which four appear and the order they show in.

Open the customizer

  1. Click Customise (the small gear button just above the grid).
  2. The Customise Quick Actions panel slides in from the side.

Pick your actions

The panel has two sections:

  • Active — the shortcuts currently on your dashboard, shown as (count/4). You can hold up to four at a time.
  • All actions — the full catalogue you can choose from.

To build your grid:

  1. In All actions, click any action to add it. A checkmark appears and it moves into your Active list.
  2. Click an active action again (or use the X on its row) to remove it.
  3. Once you have four selected, the panel shows Remove one to add another — take one out before adding a different one.

Reorder your actions

In the Active section, drag an action by its grip handle to change the order. The top-most action becomes the first card in the grid.

Save

Click Save changes to apply your grid, or Cancel to close without saving. Your selection is stored on your account and appears the next time you open the dashboard.

Available Quick Actions

The catalogue includes these shortcuts. By default your grid shows the first four (New rental order, Create invoice, Add equipment, Check returns).

ActionWhat it opens
New rental orderStart a new rental order
Create invoiceCreate an invoice, from a booking or fresh
Add equipmentAdd a single asset or a bulk item
Check returnsOpen Operations to see returns due
Add customerCreate a new customer
New leaseStart a long-term lease agreement
MaintenanceLog or schedule maintenance work
InspectionStart an asset inspection

An action only helps if you can reach where it leads. Shortcuts like Maintenance, Add equipment, or New lease open pages controlled by your permissions and your plan — if your role can’t access a destination, that screen will still block you when you arrive. Choose the actions that match the work you actually do.

Good to Know

  • Your settings are personal. Changing your time range or Quick Actions never changes what your teammates see.
  • The greeting is automatic. The “Good morning / afternoon / evening” line changes with the time of day — there’s nothing to configure there.
  • Some organizations use a custom dashboard layout. If your platform administrator has set up a tailored arrangement of widgets for your organization, that layout replaces the default one described here. The time range and Quick Actions still work the same way.
