How to Connect Your Razorpay Account?

Prefer to collect rental payments straight into your own Razorpay account? Connect your Razorpay API keys to Rentablez and customer payments route through your gateway instead of the platform default. Settlements land in your Razorpay account, and you keep full control of your payment reporting — all without leaving Rentablez.

Why Connect Razorpay?

Bringing your own Razorpay gateway means:

  • Direct payments — money is collected into your Razorpay account, not a shared platform gateway.
  • Your account, your reporting — reconcile payouts and settlements inside the Razorpay dashboard you already use.
  • One-time setup — paste your keys once; every eligible customer payment then uses your gateway automatically.

This is a bring-your-own-gateway connection. If you disconnect later, payments simply fall back to the built-in platform gateway — nothing breaks.

Before You Start

You need:

  • An active Razorpay account with API keys generated from the Razorpay Dashboard (under Settings → API Keys).
  • Your Razorpay Key ID and Key Secret. Copy the secret the moment Razorpay shows it — Razorpay only reveals the secret once at generation time.
  • Settings Write permission in Rentablez. Without it, the Connect and Disconnect buttons are disabled.

Razorpay gives you both Test and Live keys. Test keys start with rzp_test_ and Live keys start with rzp_live_. Rentablez detects the mode automatically from the prefix — use Live keys to accept real payments.

Connect Your Razorpay Account

Step 1 — Open the Integrations page

Go to Settings → Integrations → Third-party Apps. You’ll see the Razorpay connector listed alongside Zoho Books and TrackNerd, showing a Not connected status.

Step 2 — Open the connect form

Click Connect on the Razorpay row. An inline form appears with fields for your keys.

Step 3 — Enter your keys

Fill in the form:

FieldRequiredWhat to enter
Key IDYesYour Razorpay Key ID, e.g. rzp_live_... or rzp_test_...
Key SecretYesThe matching Key Secret from Razorpay (hidden as you type)
Account / Business NameOptionalA friendly label, e.g. your business name, shown on the connected card

Step 4 — Connect

Click Connect. Rentablez validates and stores your keys. On success you’ll see a Razorpay account connected successfully confirmation, and the row switches to a Connected badge.

If the keys are rejected, an error banner appears at the top of the page. Double-check that you copied the full Key ID and Key Secret with no extra spaces, and that both belong to the same Razorpay account.

What You See When Connected

Once connected, the Razorpay row shows a summary of the linked account:

DetailMeaning
AccountThe account / business name you entered (if any)
Key IDYour Key ID, shown masked for security
ModeTest or Live, detected from your Key ID prefix

From here on, eligible customer payments are collected through your Razorpay account.

Disconnect Your Razorpay Account

To stop using your own gateway:

  1. On the Razorpay row, click Disconnect.
  2. A confirmation dialog explains that this removes your stored Razorpay API keys and that payments will fall back to the platform gateway.
  3. Confirm to disconnect. You’ll see a Razorpay account disconnected confirmation.

Disconnecting is safe and reversible. Your keys are removed from Rentablez and payments revert to the platform gateway. You can reconnect at any time by entering your keys again.
