Change, Upgrade, Cancel & Resubscribe Your Plan

Your Rentablez plan isn’t locked in. As your rental business grows you can move to a bigger plan, switch between monthly and annual billing to save money, pause auto-renewal by cancelling, or come back later and resubscribe — all self-serve from one page. This guide walks through each of those actions and what to expect at checkout.

Everything below happens on the Billing & Subscription page. Open it from the account menu, or go directly to /subscription-details.

Admin only. Managing the subscription requires admin (full-access) permission. Team members without it won’t see this page. If you can’t reach it, ask your account owner.

Free plans are different. If you’re on a free plan, the billing cycle, plan amount, and the Change / Cancel actions are hidden — there’s nothing to bill or cancel. To move onto a paid plan, use Change Plan once you’re on any paid tier, or the upgrade & checkout flow.

Reading Your Current Status

At the top of the page, a status pill next to your plan name tells you exactly where you stand. The action buttons available to you change depending on this status.

StatusWhat it means
ActiveYour plan is running normally and will auto-renew.
CancelledYou cancelled, but access continues until the period end date. No further charges.
Grace PeriodYour plan lapsed but you’re inside a short grace window before access is limited.
ExpiredThe plan and its grace period have both ended. Resubscribe to restore full access.
ScheduledAn upcoming plan is queued to activate when the current one ends.

The stat cards also show your next renewal date, days remaining, plan amount per cycle, and included user seats.

Change Your Plan

Use Change Plan to move to a different tier — for example upgrading from a smaller plan to unlock more modules and user seats, or downgrading to a lighter plan.

If you already have an upcoming (scheduled) plan queued, the Change Plan button is hidden until that scheduled change takes effect. You can’t stack two pending plan changes.

Steps

  1. On the Plan Details card, click Change Plan.
  2. Choose Your New Plan — pick the plan you want and toggle between Monthly and Annual billing. Annual pricing shows the discount where available.
  3. When to Change? — choose your timing:
    • Change Now — start the new plan immediately. You’re charged a prorated amount for the time left in your current cycle (this option appears for upgrades only).
    • Schedule for Next Billing Cycle — the change takes effect when your current plan ends. Payment is taken now so the switch is locked in.
  4. Confirm Details — review the plan-change summary. For an immediate upgrade you’ll see a pricing breakdown: current plan cost, days remaining, unused credit, the new prorated charge, and the Amount to Pay Today.
  5. Payment Method — confirm and pay. Plan changes are processed through Razorpay (cards, UPI, net banking, wallets). When the payment succeeds, your plan updates and you’ll receive a confirmation email.

Proration, explained. On an immediate upgrade, Rentablez credits the unused portion of your current plan against the cost of the new one, so you only pay the difference for the days remaining. If that difference works out to zero, the button reads Confirm Change and no charge is taken.

Downgrading to a smaller plan

When the plan you pick is cheaper than your current one, Rentablez flags it as a downgrade and adjusts the flow:

  • The Change Now option is hidden — downgrading immediately would forfeit paid days you’ve already covered.
  • Schedule for Next Billing Cycle is marked Recommended. You keep your current plan’s features until it naturally expires, then the smaller plan takes over.
  • No credit or refund is issued for unused time on the current plan.

Already paid a renewal? If you have a pending renewal invoice or a paid-but-not-yet-started future renewal, the modal shows a banner. Changing or scheduling voids a pending renewal invoice (you won’t owe it), and any amount you already paid for a future renewal is applied as credit toward the upgrade — you only pay the difference.

Change Your Billing Cycle

If you want to keep the same plan but switch how often you’re billed — for example moving from monthly to annual to capture the yearly discount — use Change Billing Cycle. When annual savings are available on your plan, the page also shows a Switch to Annual nudge with the exact percentage and amount you’d save per year.

Steps

  1. On the Plan Details card, click Change Billing Cycle. (Or click Switch to Annual in the savings tip, if shown.)
  2. Change Billing Cycle — pick Monthly or Annual. The annual option displays its discount.
  3. Confirm Details — review the billing cycle change summary and the Amount to Pay Today.
  4. Choose a payment method — Razorpay or Stripe — and pay. Stripe redirects you to a secure Checkout page; Razorpay opens a popup.

Switching to annual is treated as an upgrade and charged for the remaining time on a prorated basis. Your plan and its features stay exactly the same — only the billing frequency changes.

Cancel Your Subscription

Cancelling stops auto-renewal but does not cut off your access immediately — you keep everything until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

Steps

  1. On the Plan Details card, click Cancel.
  2. A Cancel Subscription? confirmation appears explaining that your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, won’t auto-renew, and no further charges will be made.
  3. Click Yes, Cancel to confirm, or Keep Subscription to back out.

After cancelling, a Subscription cancelled banner appears showing the date your access continues until. You can reverse this any time before that date — see below.

What happens after the period ends? When a cancelled or lapsed plan reaches its end date, it enters a short grace period, then expires. Your data stays safe throughout — you just need to resubscribe to regain full access.

Resubscribe or Reactivate

How you come back depends on whether your plan is still within its paid period or has fully expired. Rentablez shows the right flow automatically, and the relevant banner has a Resubscribe button.

If you cancelled but access is still active

You’ll get a quick Reactivate Subscription confirmation. Because you’re still inside your paid period, no payment is needed — reactivating simply resumes automatic renewal on your existing plan and billing cycle.

  1. Click Resubscribe on the cancelled banner or the Plan Details card.
  2. Review the note confirming your plan and end date.
  3. Click Reactivate (or Keep Cancelled to leave it cancelled).

If your subscription has expired

Once the plan and grace period are gone, you pick a plan and pay to restore access.

  1. Click Resubscribe on the expired banner.
  2. Choose a Plan — select a plan (your previous plan is tagged Previous for reference), then click Continue.
  3. Review & Pay — confirm the amount, choose Razorpay or Stripe, and complete payment. Stripe redirects to a secure Checkout page.

Your data is waiting for you. Cancelling or letting a plan expire never deletes your account data. Resubscribing restores access to everything you had.

Upcoming (Scheduled) Plans

When you schedule a plan change or billing cycle change for the next cycle, an Upcoming Plan card appears with a Scheduled pill. It lists the queued plan, its cycle, the date it activates, and its amount. Your current plan keeps running until that date, then the scheduled plan takes over automatically — no action needed from you.

A Note on Amounts & Taxes

  • The currency symbol shown comes from your subscription, so amounts match your billing region.
  • Where tax applies, the per-cycle Plan Amount is shown inclusive of GST (18%). Individual invoices in your billing history break this down line by line.
