How to Create Contracts?
Rentablez lets you create legally binding contracts from your templates in seconds — no manual drafting needed. Pick the contract type, link it to an order or customer, choose a template, set the dates, and create. Rentablez fills in the details automatically.
Click Contracts in the sidebar to get started.
Creating, finalizing, and signing contracts requires the contract.write permission. Read-only users can view the lists but won’t see the create buttons.
Which Type Do You Need?
Rentablez has two kinds of contracts. Pick based on how the customer works with you.
| Type | Best for | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Order Contract | A one-off or short-term rental | A single order |
| Master Agreement | An ongoing client you rent to repeatedly | All future orders for that customer |
You can start either one from the quick-create buttons on the Overview tab, or from the Create button on the All Agreements tab.
One-Off Rental? — Create an Order Contract
Click Create Order Contract.
Search for the Order by number in the Select Order box. Rentablez links the customer automatically once you pick the order.
Choose a Contract Template — for example, Standard Rental Agreement. See Managing Templates & Clauses to set these up. As soon as you pick a template, a Selected Template Includes preview lists the clauses that will appear in the contract.
Set the Effective Date (usually the order start date). The Expiry Date is optional — leave it blank and Rentablez defaults to one year after the effective date.
Add any Special Terms for this Order that are specific to this deal.
Click Create Order Contract. The contract opens in Draft status, ready to sign.
Or Generate It Straight From the Order
You don’t have to come to the Contracts page at all. Open the order, find the Contracts section, and click Generate Contract. Rentablez builds the order contract using your default template for that order — handy once asset allocation is confirmed. See Order Contracts for the order-side view.
Long-Term Client? — Create a Master Agreement
Click Create Master Agreement.
Search for the Customer you want to cover in the Select Customer box.
3PL customers: If the customer is a third-party logistics (3PL) account, a required Client ID selector appears. Pick the end client this agreement is for. If the list is empty, add Client IDs on the customer page first.
Choose a Contract Template built for master agreements. A clause preview appears the same way it does for order contracts.
Set the Effective Date and, optionally, the Expiry Date for how long the agreement runs (again, blank defaults to one year).
Turn on Enable Auto-Renewal if you want Rentablez to automatically extend the agreement when it expires. A Renewal Period (Days) field appears — set how many days each renewal adds (defaults to 365).
Add any Special Terms for this customer, then click Create Master Agreement.
What Happens Next — Getting It Signed
Every new contract starts in Draft. From there it moves through a short signing workflow:
- Finalize the draft to lock its content.
- Company signs internally — by drawing, typing, uploading, or using your organization’s saved signature.
- Send to the customer, who verifies and signs digitally through a secure link.
- The contract becomes Active, with every step recorded in the audit trail.
Rentablez enforces this order so the audit trail stays complete. For the full walkthrough of signing methods, OTP verification, link-expiry options, and tracking, see Signing & Tracking Contracts.
You’re All Set!
Your contract is created and on its way to being signed. Rentablez keeps a full record of every version, signature, and status change so you’re always covered.
