Passwords, OTP & Account Security

Your Rentablez account is the front door to your whole workspace — orders, customers, pricing, and payments all sit behind it. This page walks through how signing in works, how to recover a forgotten password using an emailed reset link and one-time code (OTP), and the safety features that protect you if someone tries to guess their way in.

Rentablez does not send an email-verification step when you create an account. After you finish signing up you go straight to your dashboard. Password security is handled through the flows below, not through a “verify your email” link.

Password Requirements

Every new or reset password must meet all five rules. As you type, the screen shows a live strength meter (Very Weak through Very Strong) and ticks off each requirement as you satisfy it.

RequirementWhat it means
At least 8 charactersMinimum length
One uppercase letterAZ
One lowercase letteraz
One number09
One special characterFor example ! @ # $ % ^ & *

You will also confirm the password a second time — if the two entries don’t match, the form shows “Passwords do not match” and won’t submit until they agree.

Signing In

On the login screen, enter your email and password, then select Log in.

  • Use the eye icon inside the password field to show or hide what you’ve typed.
  • The email is not case-sensitive — Rentablez lowercases it for you.
  • If you belong to more than one workspace, signing in shows a Select Workspace picker before you land on a dashboard. See Your Workspace URL & Switching Workspaces.

In some environments you may also see a Continue with Google button for single sign-on. This option is not available in every deployment, so if you don’t see it, sign in with your email and password instead.

If your email or password is wrong, you’ll see “Invalid email or password.” Double-check both and try again, or use Forgot Password? to reset.

Resetting a Forgotten Password

The reset flow has three short stages: request a link, verify a one-time code, then set a new password.

  1. On the login screen, select Forgot Password?.
  2. Enter the email address on your account and select Send Reset Link.
  3. Watch for a confirmation that a reset link has been sent, then check your inbox.

For your protection, Rentablez never reveals whether an email is registered — you’ll see the same “a password reset link has been sent” message either way.

You can only have one active reset request at a time. If you ask again too soon, you’ll be told you already have an active request and roughly how many minutes to wait. Requesting too many links in a short window triggers a temporary block with a “please wait 15 minutes” message. This is normal anti-abuse protection — just wait and try once.

2. Verify the one-time code (OTP)

The reset email contains a link. Opening it takes you to the Enter Verification Code screen.

  1. Enter the 6-digit code from your email.
  2. Select Verify Code.

A few things to know:

  • The code expires in 5 minutes. If it lapses, or the link is old, you’ll see an “Invalid or expired reset link” message with a button to Request New Reset Link.
  • Some emails carry the code inside the link itself, so this step verifies automatically and you go straight to setting a new password.
  • Didn’t get the email? Select Request a new one to start over.

3. Set your new password

Once the code is verified, choose a new password that meets the requirements above, confirm it, and select Set Password. On success you’ll be redirected to the login screen — sign in with the new password to continue.

Account Lockout & Too Many Attempts

Rentablez limits repeated failed sign-ins so nobody can guess their way into your account.

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to do
”Account locked. Try again in X minutes.”Too many wrong passwords in a rowWait the stated time, then sign in — or reset your password
”Too many login attempts. Please wait a minute and try again.”Sign-in attempts came in too fastPause briefly, then try again

If you’re locked out and can’t remember your password, the quickest path back in is Forgot Password? rather than waiting.

Forced Password Change

Sometimes you’ll be required to change your password before you can continue — most commonly on your first login after an administrator creates your account or resets your password.

When this happens, signing in takes you straight to a Change Password screen instead of the dashboard. Set a new password that meets the requirements, confirm it, and select Change Password. You’ll then return to the login screen to sign in fresh with your new credentials.

This is a security safeguard: temporary or admin-set passwords are meant to be replaced by one only you know.

Resetting a Team Member’s Password (Admins)

If you manage users, you can reset a colleague’s password directly instead of asking them to run the forgot-password flow. This requires user management (write) permission.

  1. Go to the Users list.
  2. Find the person and choose the Reset Password action.
  3. Enter a new password (minimum 6 characters) and confirm.

The user is emailed their new password, and they’ll typically be prompted to change it on their next sign-in. Encourage them to pick their own password right away so no shared or admin-set password stays in use.

Tips for Keeping Your Account Secure

  • Use a unique password you don’t reuse on other sites.
  • Never share your login — create a separate user for each team member instead, so actions are traceable and access can be revoked individually.
  • Reset immediately if you suspect someone else knows your password.
  • Keep your email secure, since password resets flow through it.
