How to Find and Filter Projects?

As your project list grows, scrolling to find the one you need gets slow. The Projects page gives you a search box and a filter panel so you can jump straight to the right project — whether you remember its name, its code, the customer, or just that it is still in planning.

Before You Start

You need the projects.read permission to open the Projects page and see the list. If the Projects menu item is missing, ask your administrator to grant it.

Searching and filtering are read-only actions — anyone who can view projects can use them. You do not need write access to find a project.

Open the Projects List

From the main navigation, go to Projects. You land on a table with one row per project.

Each row summarizes the project at a glance:

ColumnWhat it shows
Project CodeThe unique code — click it to open the project
Project NameThe project’s name
CustomerThe linked customer
TypeThe project type (Construction, Mining, etc.)
Start Date / End DateThe planned schedule
DaysTotal calendar days in the schedule
OrdersHow many orders are linked to the project
RevenueTotal revenue rolled up on the project
StatusA colored badge showing the current stage

The Project Code and Project Name columns stay pinned as you scroll sideways, so you always know which row you are looking at.

Search by Name, Code, or Customer

Use the Search projects… box at the top right of the page. As you type, the list narrows instantly to projects whose:

  • Project name contains your text, or
  • Project code contains your text, or
  • Customer name contains your text.

The search is case-insensitive and matches on any part of the value, so typing acme finds “Acme Warehouse Fit-Out” and any project for the customer “Acme Corp.” Clear the box to see the full list again.

Filter by Status and Type

For broader slicing — like “show me everything still in progress” — use the filter panel.

Step 1: Open the filter panel

Click Show Filters in the header. A Filters panel opens with two dropdowns. Click Hide Filters to close it again.

Step 2: Choose your filters

Set either or both dropdowns:

  • Status — narrow to one stage of the project lifecycle.
  • Project Type — narrow to one category of work.
FilterAvailable options
StatusPlanning, Approved, In progress, Completed, On hold, Cancelled
Project TypeConstruction, Mining, Agricultural, Infrastructure, Event, Other

Step 3: Apply

Click Apply to update the list. The table now shows only projects that match your selections.

Search and filters work together. Filters narrow the list first; the search box then refines whatever the filters returned. Use both to zero in — for example, filter to In progress projects, then search a customer name.

Step 4: Clear when done

Click Clear in the filter panel to remove all filters and return to the full list. Clearing the filters does not touch whatever is in the search box, so clear that separately if needed.

Open, Edit, or Delete From the List

Once you have found the project, use the row’s Actions column:

  • View (eye icon) — open the project’s detail page. You can also click the blue Project Code or Project Name.
  • Edit (pencil icon) — jump straight to the edit page.
  • Delete (trash icon) — remove the project after a confirmation prompt.

The Edit and Delete icons only appear if you have the projects.write permission. With read-only access you can still view any project.

Deleting is blocked when orders are linked. If a project has orders attached, the delete is rejected with a message telling you it may have linked orders. Unlink or reassign those orders first. See How to Edit, Update Status, and Delete a Project? for the full flow.
